Atalanta have moved quickly to find a replacement for Rasmus Højlund, who has all but sealed a move to Manchester United.
Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano posted on Twitter on Friday (June 5), “Gianluca Scamacca (West Ham United) 바카라 goes to Atalanta. Transfer fee confirmed at 30 million euros ($43.1 million) including bonuses.”
Atalanta has sent 20-year-old striker Hoyun to United. The deal is expected to be finalized later in the day.
Once the deal was finalized, Atalanta moved quickly to find a replacement, selecting homegrown striker Skramaca.
He will initially be heading to Inter Milan. Inter Milan chose him to replace Romelu Lukaku.
Atalanta acted quickly and pulled off the hijack. The base transfer fee of €25 million was similar, but Atalanta’s €5 million in bonuses worked in their favor. Add in a sell-on clause, and it was a deal that satisfied both West Ham and Skramaca himself.
Suffice it to say, Scaramucci was a key player in West Ham’s Conference League title win. More than his explosive goalscoring ability, his strengths lie in his ability to control the ball up front and link up play. He’s similar to Hooper in this regard, so he’ll fill the void well.
